About

Enchained - the site name is inspired by Back-on's single and arguably most famous song "Chain". Back-on is a 4-man Japanese band formed in 2004 and is fronted by both Teeda (rapper/MC) and also Kenji03 (lead vocalist, guitars), both well-known names in the 'live band' scene in Japan.

Back-on can almost be likened to the Japanese 'Linkin Park'... without the remixing DJ. Guitar, bass, drums with a strong chorus to backup the primarily rap verses - which itself is a mix of Japanese and English. However, they are capable of a multitude of rhythms and tunes, as evident in their latest mini-album release "New World" which showcases music from their previous releases, such as "Hikari Sasuhuo", found in their "Babyrock" album.

Like Linkin Park, Back-on has the talent and the ability to carve out their own section of the music world. At present they are relatively unknown outside of Japan, but have now gained exposure through (the if predictable but nevertheless useful) the use of their songs in the anime theme-song medium. Firstly, through "Chained" via "Air Gear", an anime released in 2006 to a degree of popularity (its about skaters, and power skaters...?) and more recently, "Hikari Sasuhuo" as the featured theme song (my personal favourite) of a brand new 6-part anime series "Murder Princess".
